Then make sure you turn Updates back on in settings. Thanks to all for trying to help. It's a Dell laptop and I ended up restoring the hard drive back to new condition. Used the Dell restore program so did not try the group advice. Had issues with the restore operation but after 3 days, I'm about over it.
